A simple mission

Our mission is to replace imported Kwila decking in New Zealand with Red Beech.

The timber

A New Zealand hardwood with its own character.

Red Beech is endemic to New Zealand. Its accepted botanical name is Fuscospora fusca; the former name Nothofagus fusca still appears in older references.

Our decking is selected as heartwood, kiln-dried and machined with pencil-round edges. The colour moves naturally through warm honey, red and brown tones, with the grain and variation of real timber.

Standards context

Red Beech is recognised in New Zealand’s durability pathway.

The current B2/AS1 durability pathway references NZS 3602:2003. That standard lists beech—including Red Beech—in dressing-heart grade, without preservative treatment, for a defined replaceable, unroofed decking context.

This is not a universal product guarantee. The finished board, project design, installation, exposure, surface requirements and maintenance still matter.

Experience

We have worked with Red Beech used outdoors since 2015.

We over-engineer the details, ask careful questions and keep the limitations visible. Installation and maintenance guidance is being prepared around the finished Innate profiles; until then, project details are checked directly before supply.
