Innate is a New Zealand material and product company built around a simple belief: local resources should create lasting value here, with clear information and care at every step.
Our mission
Replace imported Kwila decking in New Zealand with Red Beech.
It is deliberately ambitious. New Zealand has a remarkable native hardwood, a regulated supply pathway and the ability to turn it into a practical exterior product. Our job is to make that pathway simple enough for homeowners, builders and designers to use with confidence.
Experience
Working with Red Beech outdoors since 2015.
The interest is not new. We have been involved with Red Beech used outdoors for more than a decade, through product development, supply conversations and real exterior applications.
That experience also makes us cautious. Timber performance is not created by a species name alone. Heartwood selection, drying, machining, detailing, installation, exposure and maintenance all deserve proper attention.
Innate Materials
Useful information beside a real product.
Innate Materials is the public material-information side of Innate. It explains species identity, standards context and practical limits without turning every fact into a sales claim.
The commercial offer is equally plain: current profiles, prices, sample contents, deposit, lead time, freight and guarantee scope. Where the answer depends on the final product or project, we say so.
Innate Furniture
Connected to makers, not separated from them.
Innate grew from the same practical workshop culture as Innate Furniture in Ōtautahi Christchurch. The shared values are straightforward: make useful things, work with real materials, answer people directly and keep improving the details.
